In the Belgian Research in Europe Report 2025, Fabienne L'Hoost, our Director General, reflects on the key outcomes of the Belgian economic missions, emerging economic trends, and the global impact of one sector in particular: nuclear medicine, where Belgium continues to play a pioneering role.

On 2 June 2025, we organised a successful Trade4U seminar in preparation of the Belgian Economic Mission to the West Coast of the United States, which will be led by HRH Princess Astrid from 4 to 12 October 2025.

Following the press conference dedicated to the new publication Belgian Defence, attended by the Deputy Chief of Cabinet, Ministry of Defence, Karel-Jan Senave, Walloon Minister-President Adrien Dolimont and Walloon Minister of Economy Pierre-Yves Jeholet, the Belgian Foreign Trade Agency (BFTA) organised a working lunch focused on this strategic sector.

We are pleased to announce the release of our latest sector publication “BELGIAN DEFENCE”, developed in close collaboration with the Ministry of Defence, the FPS Foreign Affairs, Flanders Investment & Trade, the Wallonia Export & Investment Agency (AWEX) and hub.brussels. The publication was officially presented at a press conference at Club Prince Albert in Brussels on 21.05.2025.

This mission will be led by HRH Princess Astrid of Belgium accompanied by HE Theo Francken, Minister of Defence, in charge of Foreign Trade; HE Matthias Diependaele, Minister-President of the Government of Flanders and HE Pierre-Yves Jeholet, Vice President of the Walloon Government.

Last Friday, our colleague Dennis Gijsbrechts was invited to give a workshop at the Universiteit Antwerpen during their “Dag van het economieonderwijs” to discuss Belgian trade flows. Owing to the topic’s relevance in today’s economic landscape, the event reached full capacity.
