We are pleased to announce the release of our latest sector publication โ€œBELGIAN CLEAN HYDROGENโ€, developed in close collaboration with the Ministry of Defence, the FPS Foreign Affairs, hub.brussels, FIT and AWEX.

โœ”๏ธ This publication explores the strategic, economic and technological dimensions of Belgiumโ€™s emerging hydrogen sector, highlighting how Belgian companies, research institutions and public authorities contribute to the development of a clean hydrogen economy within the broader energy transition.

โœ”๏ธ Hydrogen is becoming a key solution for decarbonising hard-to-abate sectors such as industry and heavy transport. Belgium is positioning itself as a central hub in North-West Europe, leveraging its strategic location, industrial base and infrastructure for the production, import and distribution of hydrogen and its derivatives.

โœ”๏ธ Belgium's hydrogen sector is reaching maturity, supported by a solid regulatory framework, emerging market mechanisms and growing infrastructure. At the same time, large-scale deployment depends on improved cost competitiveness and a pragmatic approach combining multiple production pathways, underpinned by effective EU regulation.

โ€ข The first part provides an in-depth analysis of hydrogenโ€™s role in the energy transition, covering global trends, European policy frameworks and the Belgian landscape.

โ€ข The second part features 12 Belgian companies, each showcasing their expertise across the hydrogen value chain.

โ€ข The third part highlights the key stakeholders and collaborative networks shaping Belgiumโ€™s hydrogen ecosystem.
