A successful webinar was organized on 28 June 2022 on the occasion of the release of our publications “Belgian foreign trade” and “World trade”.

We want to especially thank Mrs. Véronique Goossens, Chief Economist at Belfius, to provide us more insight into the bank’s macroeconomic forecasts during these uncertain times.

The economic crisis that resulted from the COVID-19 pandemic had the most severe impact on global exports and imports since the financial crisis of 2008/09. While international trade in goods has since returned to pre-pandemic levels, trade in services has remained somewhat subdued.

The publications ‘Belgian foreign trade’ and ‘World trade’ provide information on how well Belgium’s exports and imports of both goods and services have recovered from the pandemic. They give an overview of our country’s main trade partners and the products and services it exports and imports the most. They also give you a sense how well Belgium has performed in comparison to the other EU-countries and by extension the world.
