With nearly €40.7 billion, Germany remained our number one client after the first six months of 2021. Exports to this country were up by 25.8% (+€8.3 billion) when compared to the same period a year earlier. France held on to second place with exports amounting to €30.3 billion. In comparison to a year earlier, exports had increased by 22.3% (+€5.5 billion). Finally, Belgian exports to the Netherlands have risen by 21.3% (+€4.4 billion) in value to €25.1 billion after the first half of 2021.
Top Lieferanten
The Netherlands have strengthened their position as the number one supplier of goods of Belgium. Imports from this country increased by 35.7% (+€10.1 billion) to €38.3 billion during the first six months of 2021. Germany remained in second place with imports amounting to €28.4 billion, which is a surge of 26.2% (+€5.9 billion) when compared to the same period a year earlier. Meanwhile, France held on to third place with €20.5 billion (+24.6% or +€4.0 billion).
